Gun-Toting, Beer-Drinking Hillary Hates San Francisco? (Brent Budowsky)

@ 10:40 am

This has got to be the worst act since George Bush donned a flight suit to impersonate a war hero.

Here comes the real condescending candidate, Hillary ($800,000 from Colombian speeches, $109 million family account), impersonating a beer-drinking, whiskey-downing, gun-toting candidate of the people. Who's gonna believe that one?

Notice Hillary dished in some “hate San Francisco” talk between her swigs of booze and her shooting a few deer. Did Karl Rove write that one, or did it come from Mark (Colombian trade deal) Penn?

Now what, exactly, was Hillary trying to appeal to among Pennsylvania voters? When she was demonizing San Francisco, exactly who else was she demonizing, and who did she think she was appealing to in Pennsylvania with that one?

I'll buy lunch for the first person who gets it right.

The Hill welcomes comment from anyone and will almost always post it whether it is favorable or critical, as long as it is substantive and advances debate.

  1. Instead of attacking Hillary, perhaps you should inform your candidate, Mr. Obama, that duck hunters DO NOT use six-shooters in duck blinds, they use 12-gauge shotguns.

    Comment by JoeCHI — April 15, 2008 @ 11:18 am

  2. Joe;

When was the last time you saw Hillary with a gun, six-shooter or shotgun? Hillary is so desperate that she would say that her father taught her how to shoot when in reality, she has been a gun control advocate for many years. I thought that Obama's comments on her actions were funny. You see Joe, I know Annie Oakley, Annie oakley was a friend of mine and Hillary is no Annie Oakley (credits to Lloyd Bentsen).

  3. Mr. Budowsky, you certainly have first rate blogs and articles. This last blog was to the point as well.

  4. Wow, shocker of the week: Hillary pandering. Meanwhile Obama is bonding with the limousine liberals of San Francisco and feeding them the hick hate they expect to hear. This candidate of change (and other legal tender he was hoping to get from the common folks in Marin county) thought he was away from the media so he could just tell a little truth as he saw it. He was wrong.

    Comment by Igor R. — April 15, 2008 @ 1:45 pm

  5. Most reasonable folks hate all these perverts and liberals in San Francisco. For Hillary, it was just a slip of the tong when under influence she made some true statements for a change.

  6. i think she should start drinking more…i also think she's trying to appeal to anyone she can. one speech she's talking about her methodist upbringing and spirit, the next speech she's drinking w/ the locals. whoever doesn't like Obama, that's her target right now.

i think she was playing on the divide between the "working class/classic center-left DEM" and the "LIB/MARXIST/Enlightened minority DEM"

  7. When I heard HRC's tonal inflection on the word San Francisco I wondered if Nancy Pelosi instantly developed asthma and had an "asthma attack"? I believe that HRC is going from a "scortched earth" or Napalm attack to a Biohazard/Dioxin approach–nothing will be viable or support life within the Democratic party if whe is not our cancidate. So, Good-bye Speaker Pelosi! Or in the parlance of the school-yard: If I can't be President you can't be Speaker!
Also, Senator Boxer has not endorced HRC-she has a daughter who married into HRC's family, then divorced-but Boxer faces the first relection of our 2 senators. So, HRC may be settling some scores!
Murtha may be considering a challenge to or seeking inclusion in the House leadership, so he may be helped by HRC's comments.
Hey, Brent, I'm an Adjuct Faculty-yes, I am called "Professor" by my students-HRC apparently did not understand that college students call you "Professor" independant of your tenure status–as evidenced by HRC et al. comments about Obama. If I'm correct would you come to my campus the next time you're in San Francisco Bay Area and have lunch with my students???
P.S. As an attorney, I became aware of HRC in the late 1980's, when she was featured as an Outstanding Attorney for her work as a Corporate Attorney, whose husband was a Govenor from a small southern state–her "Star" was definitely the brighter of the pair. That's why I have trouble with her when she talks about her 35 years of public service. But her Corporate Attorney experience serves her well as she "rolls-out" her new products: i.e., she re-invents herself one more time!

  8. Hillary appears much better suited for the GOP.

    Comment by Lester — April 15, 2008 @ 3:17 pm

  9. Lester, the woman who finds a new group every few months to take the profits from for the benefit of the "people" belongs in the GOP? Wow, Marxists to the left of me, Marxists to the right.

  10. CNN just reported that a Hillary said a vote for Barack Obama is like a vote for George Bush. What will she do next? Lie, slug drinks, cry, scream? I thought she was post menopausal. She is unstable and unpredictable and not the person we want in charge of the most powerful military on earth. Would a latent hot flash cause impaired judgement?

  11. Would the real Hillary Clinton please stand. Oh, I forgot there is no real Hillary Clinton just all things to all people.

  12. I don't see why any sentient carbon-based life form on planet earth should care in the least what pandering persona Senator You-Know-Her, a.k.a. "Buffaloed Girl," adopts this week. By next week, she'll just assume another fake image of herself as something or other that she thinks she can sell.

Like her "more experienced" hero great-grandpa John McBomb, You-Know-Her needs to retire now from attempting to meddle with the American government. Both she and he have done enough damage already. "Experience" like theirs, America does not need and cannot afford, which explains why it doesn't sell.

  13. ernieson, let's analyze her theory. Let's first note the preponderance of certain letters in the election patterns:

    [B]ush, [B]ill, [B]ush, [B]arack

    G [W] H Bush, [W] J Clinton, G [W] Bush

    G [H] W Bush, B [H] Obama, [H] R Clinton

There are three almost equally strong patterns: the B's, the W's, and the H's. Yet even though the B is weaker than W as the first letter of the first name for the male Clinton, the "B" pattern in the strongest. The "W" pattern does not really correspond to a timeline. In this sense a vote for Barack is a vote for Bush.

  14. ok…I will bite..she's appealing to the homophobic types in PA????

she actually said she Hates San Francisco? If that is the case and Californians learn this. How in the world will she win California? The woman is a total nutcase

  16. Brent,
HRC is showing how non-elitist she is by trashing San Franciscians and, through them, Sen. Obama.

Whoever is running her crazy campaign now is really grasping at straws. The humiliating depths to which she and the former president seem willing to drop to would indicate the potential monetary losses they might face if she doesn't triumph over Obama. What's looking ridiculous while throwing back a shot of whisky when so much money — read contributions to his "foundation" — at stake?

The L.A. Times reports another seeming "conflict of interst" for the Clintonistas today. Bill, campaigning in Pa., said his fundraising relationship with a Chinese company involved in Internet censorship did not pose a potential conflict of interest for his wife's campaign. HRC is urging GWB to boycott the Olympics opening in Beijing. Oh boy, hipocrisy abounds!

Meanwhile, rumour has it that Pa. Gov. Ed Rendell is leaning heavily, very heavily, on Democratic politicos in the state's municipalities. Rendell has reportedly threatened several mayors with loss of funds from state coffers unless they get more "enthusiastic" about HRC's campaign.

  17. Igor,
I understand you completely; that's the first thing you've ever written that makes any sense. It also shows that you can think outside the box. Perhaps you're a closet lefty! Wasn't that a shame about Trotsky?

  20. This has got to be one of the stupidest non-issues to come down the pike. If every thing Hillary and McSame say about Obama's vile comments are true, so what (as Dick "can you get anymore elitist then that" Chaney would say)? Is his elitism responcible for the job loss these folks have suffered? How about their lack of heath care, I guess his comments really caused that one. The key to this is something Bill Clinton has always said. If Americans vote with their brains, democrats win. This is an effort, led by the media, and not merely Fox, to distract Americans and get them to be mad about some meaningless comment as opposed to the very meaningful policy choices that created their situation. And I thought these were supposed to be such tough, hard scrabble people. Obama's words hurt my feeeeelings, so I'm going to vote for the candidate that talks to me nice, regardless of their policy positions. These folks have such delicate sensibilities. We need to stop treating them like their a bunch of thumb suckers. I would be surprised if these folks are really that soft, regardless of the MSM's attempt to convince them that they are.

And by the way, what did she actually say about San Francisco?

  25. t-bone, it's interesting that you picked a purposefully absurd comment of mine to make your point.

    Comment by Igor R. — April 16, 2008 @ 4:29 pm

  26. mooresart, most liberals don't hate most liberal causes is more like it.

    Comment by Igor R. — April 16, 2008 @ 4:31 pm

  27. mooresart - since you belong to "reasonable" people, I am sure you don't hate Usama bin Laden for 9/11, Hezbollah for murdering US Marines in Lebanon, or thugs that broke into LA stores to steal stereos to protest racism in US after Rodney King verdict in 1992.

You can't win wars for survival if you don't hate your enemy, including domestic enemies, those who undermine our culture, our language and push PC down our throats. San Francisco with its anti-military stand, homosexual perverts in City Hall, liberal policies towards homeless bums and illegal immigrant sanctuary invites the feeling of hate from people with normal values. It's a shame we have to explain that over and over again.

  28. As one who grew up, lived and worked in the SF Bay Area for some 30 years and am married to a native-born San Franciscan, I offer this bit of wisdom from my Athens, Greece-born sister-in-law.

"Leaving San Francisco is like getting in a time machine. the farther from San Francisco you get, the farther back in time you go."

So if HRC and McBush want to remain mired in the 19th century, that's their affair. I choose to live in the New Millenium and will vote for the candidate of the New Millenium, Barack Obama. Give the Brother His Shot!

    That's it! Vote for Obama.

    Accomplishments = none!

    Solutions = None!

    Military service = None!

    Comment by Wil Burns — April 18, 2008 @ 6:30 pm

  31. OK, now let's talk about what really happened:
Candidates do goofy sh*t because voters are so f-ing lame.
Does anyone think Obama really wanted to go bowling in Altoona?
Budowsky is upset because his candidate bowled a 37 and looked kinda stupid
while Hillary had a beer and did a shot and it was seen as a very successful stunt.

    ha ha

    That's why Budowsky is mad.
His candidate got out-played and he can't accept it

  32. To Anne, poster of Comment #7:

You wrote, "P.S. As an attorney, I became aware of HRC in the late 1980’s, when she was featured as an Outstanding Attorney for her work as a Corporate Attorney, whose husband was a Govenor from a small southern state …" The "corporation" HRC mostly worked for, pro bono, was the Legal Services Corporation, on whose board she served both as a member and as a chairperson. The Rose law firm, where she was a partner, does mostly state bond work; because her husband was governor she was precluded from the partnership shares and made no more than $160,000 a year. In Philadelphia, where I'm from, that's a barely decent wage for a second-year associate. She and Vince Foster, the man who was driven to suicide by the viciousness of right-wing attacks against him, both did a lot of pro bono work for indigent clients when they worked at Rose. This is the person you and other posters are so ready to slime. A simple bit of fact-checking on your part would have revealed this to you, but your unwillingness to do even that much in your haste to trash Sen. Clinton speaks ill of your qualifications both as lawyer and teacher. Why, after all, let the facts get in the way when it's so much easier to spew poisonous opinion whether accurate or not?

  33. Man, have some folks lost all perspective in their seemingly desperate efforts to protect little fragile Barack. He does need you tho,he obviously can't defend himself. I love the way he plays nice every debate with his "Can't we all just get along" routine and then when he's not face to face with Hillary he gives her the finger. What a complete tool. You folks must be keeping the mail order snake-oil hype-sters working overtime.
