Since McCain has the Hispanics squarely in his pocket, this really doesn't make much sense.

Since McCain backed off of his own bill and sided with the folks who bashed the immigrants, I think that the republicans including McCain has lost them to the Dms.

I think that Obama will be able to get his message across to the Hispanic voters. While there are reason that they may like McCain more than other Republicans, when it comes down to it, the Hispanics have the same issues the rest of us have: high gas prices, home foreclosures, sons and daughters in Iraq or unable to afford college, lacking healthcare, and many more issues that make voting Democratic the "self-interest" way to vote.
I think Bill Richardson will be a great help in getting this message across.

Slimjack beat me to it; remember Bill Richardson.

Yes, as a former Secretary of Energy and a Hispanic, Richardson is uniquely qualified to tell Hispanics about the cause of high gas prices. Unfortunately, given that he can't blame the Democrats who refuse to drill or build nuclear plants, he would have to lie. How sad.
