What is Bill Clinton Up To? (Dick Morris)
When Bill Clinton tells friends that Obama is going to have to "kiss my a–" to get his support, is he just ranting?
No. He's pursuing a carefully crafted two-step he has worked out in advance with Hillary.
It's the old good-cop-bad-cop routine. Hillary repairs her relationship with the Democratic base by falling all over herself to back Obama, appearing at rallies, dedicating herself to campaigning for him, and boosting him at every turn. She has to. > Read More

What's This It Starts in Unity and Ends in Defeat (Bill Press)
It was very exciting, seeing Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama standing side by side for party unity, in Unity, N.H.
The location, of course, was carefully chosen to match the event. Where else but in a town called Unity could they so well put on a public display of unity? But now the big question is: Where else should they appear together?
To continue the winning theme, after Unity, New Hampshire, I would suggest Magic, Idaho. They might also consider swinging by Inspiration, Arizona, and Paradise, California. And, while they’re at it, why not Bravo, Alabama?
Among places to avoid, I would strongly suggest: Double Trouble, New Jersey; Toast, North Carolina; Liars Corner, Ohio; and Idiot Creek, Oregon. > Read More

What's This Primetime Politics (Armstrong Williams)
Have you noticed that the 2008 presidential race has gone primetime?
Thus far, it is evident by the dramatic increase in primary voter turnout that more people are participating and enthusiastic. In many states, this year’s primary elections ushered in more voters than 2000’s general election. Wow!
Further, these candidates are attracting larger audiences than even President Bush himself. Sen. Obama regularly speaks to excited crowds of 20,000-plus while President Bush often speaks with only a few hundred quiet individuals. > Read More

What's This Getting Past 24/7 – Think, Recharge and Refocus (Kathy Kemper)
When did it suddenly become cool to work 24/7? When did we start saying "24/7″?
When did it become a badge of honor to have five receptions, nine meetings and two dinners to attend?
This is the work culture of today — we can't sustain it. > Read More

The Importance of Wesley Clark (Bernie Quigley)
We’ve been hearing a lot about John Adams these days. All my Yankee friends who read books have enjoyed the HBO show, the David McCullough biography and the recent PBS series. But as one born and reared in New England, I’ve always preferred Thomas Jefferson.
Especially these days. As his father early on compared them to the father and son Adams presidents, I’ve long thought that George W. Bush modeled — or more likely imagined — his presidency after Adams, the second president of the United States. > Read More

What's This The Ruling Reverberates (Stuart Roy)
Judging from the highly scientific review of the Facebook status updates of many of my friends — Republican and Democrat — yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling, which for the first time ruled on and clarified that the Second Amendment is a right extended to individuals, was highly anticipated and generated tremendous interest. But the question for a blog such as this one is, Will it make a difference in the elections?
The Democrats came out, guns blazing, trying to prove that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was a true gun rights supporter. Many even immediately began attacking Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for perceived changes on guns. Interestingly, just as one of the contributors to this blog did, they attacked McCain from the RIGHT for wanting to make changes to how guns are purchased at gun shows. > Read More

Mr. McCain and Guns (Peter Fenn)
“I know how to use guns; but I don’t own one.”
— John McCain, November 2007
Not only that, but here is what the NRA’s America’s First Freedom magazine wrote about McCain in 2001:
"The gun control debate in Washington has hit center stage because Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has now become one of the premier flag carriers for the enemies of the Second Amendment."
OK. So now we have McCain as the holier-than-thou, pro-gun Rambo out there attacking Barack Obama after the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling. > Read More
